Catalog Data ECEN 5345 (3). Introduction to Solid State. This course covers basic crystallography, free electron theory, energy band theory semiconducting, dielectric, optical and superconducting materials, processes and devices.
Credits and Design 3 credit hours. Elective course.
Prerequisite(s) ECEN 3400, Electromagnetic Fields and Waves

Course Objectives To introduce students to the fundamental concepts of solid state materials and their application to electrical and optical devices.
