ECEN 5672 - Digital Image Processing

Catalog Data ECEN 5672 (3). Digital Image Processing. The objective of the course is to present the fundamental techniques available for image representation and compression (e.g., wavelets), filtering (e.g., Wiener and nonlinear filter), and segmentation (e.g., anisotropic diffusion).
Credits and Design 3 credit hours. Elective course.
Prerequisite(s) ECEN 5632, Theory and Applications of Digital Filtering, or instructor consent.

Course Objectives This course is designed to teach students the theory of image enhancement and image restoration with hands-on experience through homeworks and class project.
