Opportunities to Visit Campus

There are several established programs to encourage visits to the College of Engineering and the Boulder campus.

Department Visit Opportunities

  • The ECEE Senior Design/Capstone Expo is a great way for students in the metro area to see how CU ECEE students make a world of difference. Come see projects that are proposed, designed, and built by ECEE student teams. The next Capstone Design Expo will be held on April 28, 2011 from 9:00-12:00.
  • We encourage prospective students and their families to visit us throughout the year. If you would like to set up a visit, please contact Valerie Matthews, Undergraduate Advisor, (303) 492-7671.
    ECEE Power Expo Competition

    College Programs

  • The Engineering Sampler, hosted by the College of Engineering and Applied Science will be held on October 15, 2011.

  • CU Admitted Students Day takes place every spring and is is an opportunity for students who have been admitted to CU-Boulder to explore the university, college, and ECEE department. This event will be held on April 2, 2011.
  • The Women in Engineering Program hosts Explore Engineering Day. The event is for high school women who with an interest in engineering. It is held each spring.
  • The Multicultural Engineering Program, Women in Engineering Program, and the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory sponsor the Success Institute, a five-day summer resident program designed to prepare students for an engineering education at CU-Boulder and a career in engineering. Participation is limited to Colorado high school students who are educationally or economically disadvantaged or are from populations typically underrepresented in enegineering colleges and the profession.
  • CU-Boulder Programs

  • The Be a CU Student for a Day program offers prospective students the chance to take part in information sessions, attend a panel discussion, and meet with campus representatives. Students also have the opportunity to attend classes with CU-Boulder students.
  • The CU Summer Sampler Program lets prospective students and their parents listen to a sample lecture by a professor, tour the campus, eat in a dining center, attend a panel discussion, and meet with campus representatives. This summer's session is on July 9, 2011.
  • Campus Visit Programs and Tours offers several other opportunities to visit.
