TCP/IP Printers In Windows XP
Use the following steps to setup a printer in Windows XP for direct TCP/IP printing.In general, this is the preferred method of using all ECE printers with Windows XP.
- Go to START: SETTINGS: PRINTERS.
- Choose "Add Printer".
- Click "Next".
- Choose "Local Printer" and Unselect "Automatically detect....".
- Click "Next".
- Choose "Create a new port" and set "Type" to "Standard TCP/IP port".
- Click "Next".
- Under "Printer Name or IP Address" enter the hostname of the printer.
Examples: "ecedell-color.colorado.edu", "ecemfp-1b55.colorado.edu", "ece-xerox.colorado.edu" - Click "Next" and "Next" again, then "Finish".
- You can now point the installer to the location of the driver by choosing "Have
Disk...".
