Toolbar

By pointing to the "Contents" tag positioned in the upper left corner, the toolbar emerges. It can be used to quickly gain access to the table of contents or the contents of any chapter or the appendix. The toolbar can be closed by clicking on the "Contents" tag.

Equation window

The top part of the screen is the equation window. As equations are referenced in the text, they can be displayed in the equation window. The equation window can be cleared by clicking in the very upper left corner of the screen.

Icons and symbols in the text

Several nagivation aids are provided in the text. Pointing at the icons/symbols provides a short description. A more detailed description is provided below:
print file in PDF formatLink to a print file in PDF format.
The print files enable to print a quality hardcopy. The user should have the Acrobat Reader to view and print the files.
spreadsheet in XLS formatLink to a spreadsheet in XLS format.
The spreadsheets are provided with the examples and a selected set of figures. The user should have a recent version of EXCEL or the EXCEL reader.

From Chapter 1 one reaches the Title page followed by the Appendix and Chapters 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 before returning to Chapter 1.
