This new ECEE sophomore elective
course is an introduction to present and future sustainable electrical
power systems, including renewable power sources, interface to the
utility grid, and efficient utilization of electric power. The major
topics covered are:
- Basic electrical energy
circuits
- The nation's electrical power
system
- Standalone and grid-tied
systems
- Economics of Power System
- Wind power systems
- Photovoltaic power systems
This course is open to engineering, science,
and other technical majors. Prerequisite is PHYS2020 General Physics 2,
or equivalent, or corequisite ECEN2250 Intro to Circuits &
Electronics. |
