Examinations from Previous Semesters

ECEN 2120 was given for the first time in the Fall Semester of 1995, under the temporary number ECEN 2830. Prior to that semester, ECEN 2220 covered similar material in a similar sequence. Thus this directory contains the examinations given in ECEN 2220 during the Fall semesters of 1994 and 1995 in addition to those given in ECEN 2830 and ECEN 2120. Each exam is identified with the professor who made it up.

You should use these exams as an indication of the kind of questions you will be asked, and a gauge of the amount of material you must have at your fingertips (as opposed to being able to find in the text). Some of the questions may pertain to material not covered this semester; simply ignore those questions.

Note that exams prior to Fall, 2003 refer to the 8086 instruction set. The current version of this course is based around the 68000 instruction set. Despite the difference in the instruction set, you will see that there are many common themes. Therefore you can use these exams as guide to the type of question or the topics that you may expect to see, independent of the specific instruction set.

No solutions are available for these examinations. See the professor to discuss any questions that puzzle you or your group.
