Examinations

  • The final exam is scheduled for Monday, May 4, 7:30-10:00 PM.
  • If you have three final exams scheduled for this day, you can make arrangements to take this exam at a different time. You must contact the instructor no later than Friday, April 17. For the complete final examination policy, see the University of Colorado at Boulder Catalog.
  • The dates of the midterm exams are February 20th and April 10th.

Grading and related policies

·        Homework assignments: 15%

·        Lab: 20%

·        Midterm exams: 15% each

·        Final exam 25%

·        Participation : 10%

Homework will be due in lecture on the day listed on the assignment.  Working in groups is permitted and encouraged, but you must turn in an independent writeup.  Late homework cannot be accepted.

Pre-lab assignments must be turned in to your TA in the first fifteen minutes of the lab period.  No late prelabs will be accepted. Your lab grade will depend on your prelab writeup, post-lab writeup, and your performance and attendance in lab.

There will be two 50 minute midterm exams.  They will be:

·        Midterm #1: Friday, February 20th.

·        Midterm #2: Friday, April 10th.

Each exam will be comprehensive of material to date, with an emphasis on more recent material.

Incomplete grades will not be issued without a valid documented reason. A petition is required, delineating how the incomplete grade will be resolved. Retaking the course is not an acceptable way to resolve an incomplete.

Thomas and Rosa, The Analysis and Design of Linear Circuits, 5th edition.
