| A note from the instructor: Students may be tempted to sit passively in class, or worse, not attend class at all, on the basis that the lecture slides contain all the information needed to learn the material.
This is far from the truth. Many years of experience have shown that learning is an active process. If you do bring the notes to class you should also bring an additional notebook for taking notes in class. There will be many blackboard examples given to illustrate various points.
Many students also find it beneficial to "decorate" their lectures slides with additional facts and information as the lecture proceeds.
