Corresponds to the graphical description of a part of a simple scenario
A basic MSC concentrates on communication between the system and its environment
It contains a partial description of the behavior
The time along each axis runs from top to bottom
The request and its answer are two different events
Details can be added by means of informal actions, informal conditions and comments
Alternatives are not shown within an MSC
