Additional information for CAETE/NTU students
Important: it is expected that students taking the course remotely will run no more than one week behind the on-campus students. You should establish a regular schedule for watching the recorded lectures. A one-week grace period is allowed for all assignments: your homework must be received by the conclusion of business (5 pm Mountain time) no more than one week after the on-campus due date. Assignments will not be accepted after that date.
Off-campus students must make sure to be on schedule at the end of the semester, to avoid receiving an incomplete grade.
Streaming video will be available for download via the web, and is usually posted later in the afternoon on the day of the lecture. With this option, off-campus students will typically run one day behind the on-campus students. Further instructions on delivery methods are provided by CAETE.
Ways to turn in your work:
Do not send the homework to CAETE. The work must be submitted directly to Prof. Maksimovic using one of the following options. In all cases, it is a good idea to retain a copy of your work.
- Electronically, via the CULearn system (this is the most preferred option)
Log in at the CULearn course site using your CU Login Name and the IdentiKey Password. On the CULearn site, you will be able to upload your work for the current HW assignment. Scan your work using 1-bit black and white, at 150-200 dpi, with all pages in a single pdf file; if the file doesn't print quickly and correctly on printers available to the instructor and the graders, you will be required to transmit your assignments via other means.
- Mail your work to the address shown below:
Prof. Dragan Maksimovic
Campus Box 425
ECEE Department
University of Colorado
Boulder, CO 80309-0425
phone: 303-492-4863
- FAX your work to the attention of Prof. Maksimovic at the following FAX number:
303-492-2758 (ECEE department fax machine)
Be sure that the fax cover page lists Prof. Maksimovic as the recipient, and notes that the fax contains ECEN5807 homework.
Regarding Educational Officers (EO): the course includes midterm and final take-home exams lasting four to seven days each. Upon request by email at the time you are ready to start the exam, the exam will be delevered electronically as an email attachment. Therefore an EO is not required. It is not necessary to take the exam at the same time as the on-campus students, but the length of the exam can not be extended, and the one-week grace period policy applies to the due date.
