Lab/recital
ECEE 281A - Your Buff card will allow access at any time. Generally:
a. Tuesdays = lab
b. Thursdays = complete lab, recital
Lab kits:
$90, In the ECE Store in ECEE 1B10, across the hall from the ECE office.
For each of the 10 labs (see schedule for details or exceptions):
a. Get the lab write up from the website
b. Do the prelab problems if there area any. Turn them into the TA at the beginning of lab, Tuesday
c. Turn in the completed neat worksheet the following Tuesday.
Lab rules:
a. There is NO food or drink allowed in the lab. Think about all that nice expensive equipment and what it
will cost you if your clumsly lab-mate elbows your 64 oz soda.
b. When you are done, clean and straighten your bench. The TA's have the right to take points off of
your lab grade if cleaning up your bench annoys them.
c. Use only the bench where your lab is set up. This includes storage for backpacks, coats, children....
d. Floors are for feet, chairs are for bottoms, benches are for hands. Don't confuse body parts or
furniture functions.
Recital:
a. These are for you. Go to them and participate.
b. A portion of your grade depends on this participation, to help motivate (a).

Homework
1. The HW is to help you learn the material. Working with friend(s) is OK, BUT:
a. Make sure YOU understand what you are doing.
2. Neatness counts:
a. Any HW or test that in the grader's opinion is illegible will receive little or no credit.
b. Any result without units, graphs without labels, units or legends etc. will receive partial credit.
3. Late HW:
a. To be graded, HW (and all lab materials) must be handed in on time.
b. The TA's have the power to make an exception (or not) in advance.
4. Depending on TA workload, we may grade just a subset of the problems in a week
Honesty
Cheating will invariably lead to a poor grade due to lack of understanding.
If you are caught cheating, you will fail the class.

Religious observances
Campus policy regarding religious observances requires that faculty make every effort to reasonably and fairly deal with all students who, because of religious obligations, have conflicts with scheduled exams, assignments or required attendance. I presume that if these observances are important to you, you already know the dates. Please email me with these dates in the first week of class and I will move the midterms or schedule a make-up exam as needed. The campus policy is at
http://www.colorado.edu/policies/fac_relig.htmlIn-class behavior
Students and faculty each have responsibility for maintaining an appropriate learning environment. Students who fail to adhere to such behavioral standards may be subject to discipline. Faculty have the professional responsibility to treat all students with understanding, dignity and respect, to guide classroom discussion and to set reasonable limits on the manner in which they and their students express opinions. Professional courtesy and sensitivity are especially important with respect to individuals and topics dealing with differences of race, culture, religion, politics, sexual orientation, gender variance, and nationalities. Class rosters are provided to the instructor with the student's legal name. I will gladly honor your request to address you by an alternate name or gender pronoun. Please advise me of this preference early in the semester so that I may make appropriate changes to my records. See polices at
http://www.colorado.edu/policies/classbehavior.html and at http://www.colorado.edu/studentaffairs/judicialaffairs/code.html#student_code
