ISA 2001 ISA 2001

ISA, the international society for measurement and control, is a 43,000-member international, nonprofit, educational and engineering organization, celebrating its 55th year in 2000. This member society of the AACC fosters advancement in the theory, design, manufacture and use of instruments, computers, and systems for measurement and automation. ISA plans to feature a new technical conference on Emerging Technologies at ISA 2001. This conference is designed to provide researchers with a venue to present papers and presentations relating to all industries involved in manufacturing. ISA 2001, the premier event in instrumentation, systems, and automation in North America, will be held September 10-13, 2001 in Houston, Texas, and will be sponsored in part by the AACC and the American Petroleum Institute (API).

Researchers can submit intent to present applications on original technical papers and presentations. Ideas should be based upon applied and basic research in emerging technologies that can be implemented in the manufacturing environment. Technical papers should describe original research or provide descriptive and analytical reviews of topics related to instrumentation, systems, and automation. Topics can include, but are not limited to: real-time computing, embedded computing, bioengineering, biochemistry, communication systems, smart sensors and actuators, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), online process optimization, and neural networks. Applications should be submitted to ISA by January 31, 2001. To request an application to present at the Emerging Technologies conference, visit ISA Online at http://www.isamarketplace.org or call (919) 549-8411.
